It took five random trips to find something The Small Toothed Dog. I had to settle on dog.
DATELINE: Omaha, Nebraska, United States DOGS SACRIFICED IN WAR EFFORT The Department of Defense issues an urgent alert last week for dog fur. General Michael Spaniel detailed, "The dog fur is needed as detonation devices on the combat ammunition turret (CAT). The CAT allows us to infilitrate Axis positions that were too strong for us." The Office of Metropolitan Architecture was the random selection. Of course, there were no photos, but I did find one for metropolitan. It's a cute one.
Ethel: I like your polka dotted dress. Was it on sale? Myrna: I don't know. Knuckles gave it to me. Ethel: Why does he have us pose on typewriters? Myrna: Something about big business in backrooms. You have to ask him. Ethel: Backroom? Did you? Submitted by fortheinfo on Sun, 12/30/2007 - 6:33pm.
Came close this time. The random page was Kispiox, British Columbia, but there was no Kispiox photos. There were tons of British Columbia ones, though.
I have no idea how I got here, but I've made a career out of it. I am a railroad trestle installer. Yes, I'm the manly man who makes sure the wood is assembled properly, accurately and fast. Our goal of connecting Canada with one long railroad is almost finished. This hasn't been an easy job. Submitted by fortheinfo on Sun, 12/30/2007 - 6:33pm.

A guy named Sam Lloyd in the random search. He's an actor. Amazingly, there was a photo of those words. A single photo. I don't think this has happened before when the exact random article shows up.
Last night was an amazing experience. We all went to O'Malleys and had one last drink goodbye. Sam was leaving for the fight in Europe tomorrow and we were headed to divorce court. Sam suggested we all pound a few in honor of his leaving. We shrugged at each other and off we went. Submitted by fortheinfo on Wed, 12/26/2007 - 4:42pm.
This time I randomly got the article on Alvan Flanders whose only claim to fame is being a delegate from the Washington territory. Ok. No Alvan Flanders photos, but there was a photo of the Flanders' kitchen in North Dakota.
The Flanders were a tough, hardy, pioneering family. They settled in the wilderness of North Dakota and brought civilization to the rough winter jungle of the plains. This was not an area that accepted people, nor was it an area to raise a family. Submitted by fortheinfo on Fri, 10/05/2007 - 1:10am.
Tonight it took five searches to come across any article that had any words in the photo database. I ended up on the Fragile State page. Yeah, I know, what is it? Let's leave it at crisis of subsystems. There was a single picture that had both words. Enjoy.
Guy 1: Tell me again why we are doing this. Guy 2: Our country is independent now. It's important to learn trades. Guy 3: Shut up and get back to work. Guy 2: You shut up. The thermometers we're making can be used in dynamite. Submitted by fortheinfo on Thu, 10/04/2007 - 12:18am.
The random page of the day was Children of Songea Trust. Talk about a tough one. No pics for it, so I went all the way down to children and came across a creepy picture.
Manuel stood in the doorway and his look was chilling. I knew something happened as he had that evil look about him. His innocence mixed with daring, I could tell he was up to no good. Submitted by fortheinfo on Fri, 06/08/2007 - 3:51pm.
The first random page was Finn Ronne. I couldn't find anything with both words, nor with Ronne. There were a ton of hits with Finn, so I settled on the following:
As dawn broke, the group of bakers gathered to review their progress. The yeast issue was still digging into their thoughts and they knew they had to solve it. Baking the world's largest loaf of bread was no easy task, as they were quickly finding. Small mistakes were made along the way. The group grew dour as they realized the oven was stunted by the limitations of the makeshift bakeware. Answers were as fleeting as the aroma of fresh pastries. They shrugged to each other until they decided on a solution. A solution that required a resolute pact of silence. Submitted by fortheinfo on Wed, 06/06/2007 - 12:05pm.
Today's random shot from wikipedia was the American College of Chest Physicians. Now, that is a subject that the photo database should have tons on. I plugged in American College of Chest Physicians and received no photos. I ran it all the way down to Physicians, but would have liked to run chest. Anyway, I settled on this photo:
I knew I had tuberculosis. The previous summer I spent time knocking around with the local bootlegger and his gang. Tight quarters, showering every month and the open life had set me up with the disease. When Doc Algason told me I had tuberculosis I didn't believe him. Old Doc told me I had to isolate myself, but I am not made of money. |
